James Edward “Bo” Chamness, 90, of Jasper, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at his residence.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 15, 2014, from noon until 2 p.m. at Kilgore-Green Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 15, 2014, at 2 p.m. in the Kilgore-Green Chapel. Burial will be in Boldo Memory Gardens. Alfred Hartley and Thomas Reeves will officiate.

“Bo” was a veteran of WWII, a founding member of the Walker County Rescue Squad, owner/operator of C & C Drilling Company for 32 years, and also known for his love of dancing and country music.

He was preceded in death by his son, Willy Ray Chamness; parents, William Joseph Chamness and Mary Effie Preston Chamness; brothers, James, William Jr. “Shorty,” and Charles Chamness; and sisters, Irene Conner, Nellie Graf and Lily Mae Oelkers.

He is survived by his wife, A. Aileen Chamness; sons, James E. Chamness Jr. and Greg Chamness (Sherrea); daughters, Karen Miller (Ken) and Pamela Ann Allred (Avery); daughter-in-law, Sandy Chamness; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
