Curry and Hayden combined for just three hits in their Class 5A, Area 12 opener Tuesday night.

The Yellow Jackets came through when it counted, scoring one run in the first inning and making it stand as Curry earned a 1-0 victory behind pitcher Tanner Aldridge.

Aldridge allowed two hits, one walk and hit two batters while striking out six in seven innings.

In the first inning, Keri Mitchell walked followed by a Jarrod Owens bunt single — Curry’s only hit in the game.
