The workshop is free to all area business owners interested in attending and will be held from 9 until 11 a.m. Thursday at the Community Health Systems Activities Center at 204 19th Street in Jasper.
“Through home-grown Alabama resources, our local business owners will be able to learn how to find and meet a foreign demand for their products that they may never knew existed,” WCEIDA Director David Knight said. “This workshop was designed for companies, business leaders and elected officials in Walker County eager to support growth and sustainability in our community through exporting overseas.”
Knight said the workshop, which is geared toward both small and medium-sized businesses, is sponsored by the following organizations: Alabama Export Alliance, Birmingham Business Alliance, Made In Alabama/Alabama Department of Commerce, Alabama International Trade Center, U.S. Commercial Service/U.S. Department of Commerce, Alabama SBDC Network, America’s SBDC and the Alabama District Export Council.
“This program will cater to all levels of experience, whether you are new to exporting or simply looking to expand into new markets,” Knight said. “The Export Alabama Alliance hands-on program will provide our local business owners with answers to a number of questions they may have about exporting their products, from how to get started to what international market to target.”
