The hottest summer fashions will be on display Thursday at a fashion show sponsored by the Walker/Marion Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The second annual Celebrity Fashion Show will begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Woodland Trace Church of Christ located on The Mall Way behind Jasper Mall.

Tickets for the fundraising event are $20 and can be purchased at the American Red Cross office located on Viking Drive. Tickets will also be available at the door Thursday or can be purchased from any Red Cross board member.

Funds raised by the event will go to disaster relief efforts.

Fashions on display this year will come from local retailers Bernard’s Store for Men, The Curiosity Shop, Belk, Girlie Things Boutique, The Keyhole and Bare Bones Cargo. Fashions will include men’s and women’s summer clothing, as well as kid’s clothing. There will also be formal attire shown.

Sponsors of the event include Downs and Co., Byars-Wright Insurance, Honda of Jasper, First Bank of Jasper, Pinnacle Bank and Coca-Cola Bottling.

“We’re hoping to make this our signature event each year to raise money for local disaster relief efforts,” said Pam Fikes, executive director of the Walker/Marion Chapter of the American Red Cross. “This will primarily benefit the people in the area who have suffered house fires.”

Last year’s inaugural event raised a little more than $4,000, Fikes said.

“This is a great partnership of the Red Cross and the business community. We couldn’t do this without their help, and we hope this is a good event for them, as well.”

A number of door prizes will be given away at the event.
