Thomas Hoyt Watson, 82, of San Angelo, Texas, passed away Aug. 26, 2010. He had lived several years in Jasper and worked for the TVA. He retired from GTE Telephone Company in April 1987 at San Angelo, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Jessie Watson and Annie Ova (Watson) Blevins, a baby brother, Jessie Jr.; and first wife, Joyce Watson.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Watson of San Angelo, Texas; daughter, Paula Dean and Mark Haught of Marblemount, Wash.; three sisters and two brothers, Mary Lou and Johnnie Berry of Gig Harbor, Wash., Betty Slatton and the late Ted Slatton, Sue and Burton Newsom, William (Bill) and Elsie Watson, Travis and Glennie Watson; three stepsons, two stepdaughters, several nieces and nephews, several step-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Belmore Baptist Church of San Angelo, Texas. A memorial service will be held at Union Grove Cemetery at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, 2010, in Barney, where he grew up.
