Look closely the next time you see photos of Miley Cyrus or Paris Hilton. They may be wearing a hat designed by Walker County native Phoebe Price.

Price went to Walker High School and now lives in Los Angeles. She started her own product line two years ago and said the new business venture uncovered her hidden talent for design.

“I’ve never been a creative person in my life. I was always the girl that went and bought it,” she said.

Price began with a few headbands and $100. Now she has over 14 pieces that are found in a variety stores, including Swank in Birmingham. She is working on clothing and perfume lines as well.

Price has a collection of photos of celebrities such as Cyrus, Hilton, Ashlee Simpson and “Gossip Girl” Blake Lively who have been sighted wearing her hats and headbands.

Price has also become an unlikely celebrity in her own right.

Her path to fame began at John Casablancas, a modeling center in Birmingham. She worked in Atlanta, South Africa, Greece and Italy before settling in Los Angeles.

Several years ago, Price gave up modeling to pursue an acting career.

She has been in several movies, including an uncredited role in “Get Smart.” She has appeared in “RuPaul’s Drag Race” on VH1 and has been offered her own reality show on a major cable network.

Price is often found at red carpet events and is a darling of the tabloids, which baffles some people who question why she is famous.

Price’s response is to stay positive.

“Everybody tells me that if they’re not talking bad about you, then you’re nobody,” she said.욯
