He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Virgie Brown Blackston; son, Johnnie Blackston; brothers, Hubert Blackston, Connie Blackston, and Clarence Blackston.
He is survived by his daughter, Veda Blackston of Parrish; son, Jimmy Michael Blackston of Parrish; two step-sons, Sammy Miller and Darrell Hutto; sisters, Lois Hall and husband Spot of Parrish, Mary Cain of Oakman, Myrtie Gurganus of Oakman and Lou Alice Culverson and husband Carlos of Jasper; brother, Ray Blackston and wife Helen of Goodsprings; granddaughters, Maggie Snow and Susie Willcutt; two great-grandchildren, Samuel Gibbins and Emily Painter; special friends, Lawrence Taylor and Sunny Martin.
