The Rev. Ralph L. Ramey, 74, of Guin, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at his residence. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Collins-Burke Funeral Home with burial at Walker Memory Gardens. Johnny Sims will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

He pastored several churches from 1972 until 1992 and worked in the coal mines for several years while being a pastor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Sally Ramey; sisters, Ruby Bean, Betty McCullar and Dorothy Horsley; and brothers, Vernon Ramey and Jack Ramey.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Ramey of Guin; daughters, Donna Appleman of Nauvoo, Rhonda Boyett of Winfield and Robin Benton of Guin; sisters, Dale Akers of Scottsdale, Ariz., Bobbie Gutierez of Curry, Sue Crumpton of Warrior and Melba Rickerel of Guntersville; and 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
