Lucille Olene Sherer Sides, beloved wife, mother, nana and friend, passed from this life to the next on Monday, Oct. 18, 2010. She was retired from the Jasper Bra Factory and was a member of the New Prospect Baptist Church. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Funeral services will be held at New Prospect Baptist Church at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, with burial to follow at Walker Memory Gardens. The Rev. Delmus Anthony, and the Rev. Dwayne Norman will officiate. Visitation will be today, Oct. 20, 2010, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home and one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Houston and Daisy Fay Hudson Sherer; brothers, Vachel, Victor, Ellis, and Ray Sherer; sister, Mabel Royer, along with two sisters who died in infancy.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Melvin Ottis Sides of Jasper; daughter, Linda Sides of Jasper; son, Terry Wayne Sides (Dianne) of Montevallo; beloved grandson, Matthew Sides; brother, Bervin Sherer of Alabaster; special nephew, James Harold Sherer; and a host of nieces and nephews.
