Lorene Minor Howell, 86, of Byhalia, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. A graveside service was held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at 1 p.m. at Tubbs Cemetery in Oakman.
Lorene was born on April 8, 1935 in Oakman. She was devoted and loving to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Lorene was truly faithful to her Lord and Savior. She taught ladies Bible classes most of her life. She had been a missionary for several years and continued missionary efforts all over the world. Her life was involved always with her family and with her church, Vultee Church of Christ. Lorene had been married to the love of her life, James Emmitt Howell, for 43 years before he passed.
Lorene is survived by her daughters, Lynn Gray (Richard) of Byhalia, Mississippi and Kristy Heiman (Rick); son, Shayne Howell (Becky) of Shalimar, Florida; sisters, Louise Carson (Tom) of Opelika, Florida and Sue Ross of Excel; brother, James Edward Minor (Martha) of Millbrook; granddaughters, Erin Howell (Aaron) of Madison, Rachel Gutierrez (Adalberto) of Olive Branch, Mississippi, Ashley Lugar (Geordan) of Eads, Tennessee, Bethany Allen (Michael) of LaVergne, Tennessee and Stephanie Baker(James) of Winder, Georgia; grandsons, Michael Gray (Samantha) of Collierville, Tennessee, Nathan Howell (Ashley) of LaVergne, Tennessee, James Helman and Joe Andrews, both of Nashville, Tennessee; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Lorene was preceded in death by her husband, James Emmitt Howell and parents, Opal Loucile and John William Minor.
