No one wants to pay more these days, especially as inflation has been galloping at a good clip. But sometimes taxes or fees have to be added on. For instance, the much-maligned state gas tax increase was needed to jump-start road construction and improvements to the state port, if one recalls, and Walker County does get funds from that to help with catching up on roads.
